Seminole Hard Rock Tampa recently had the world premiere of new casino game called One Card Blackjack. Local media and celebrities participated in a ceremonial “first hand” and ribbon cutting. Among the celebrities in attendance were Derrick Brooks (former Tampa Bay Buccaneers player), Kevin Kiermaier (Tampa Bay Rays), and Jimmy “The Mouth of the South” Hart (WWF/WCW/WWE personality).
One Card Blackjack is a unique variation of the game many of us have come to love over the years. Like the original game, the object of One Card Blackjack is to achieve a higher card count than the dealer. The twist is that the player cannot exceed a total of 11.
To start the blackjack game a player simply needs to make a bet for in the main betting area (there’s also a side bet). The King, Queen, and Jack count as ten, the Ace counts as either 1 or 11, and all other cards count as their face value.
A player gets “Blackjack” if the first card they receive is an Ace. Blackjack in this game is paid even money. The hand is a push if the first card for both the dealer and a player receives is an Ace.
One Card Blackjack also features an optional Bonus Bet. This wager will be paid at odds of 10 to 1 if the player’s initial card dealt is an Ace. That’s one way of helping the game that only pays even money when a player is dealt a “Blackjack.”
“One Card Blackjack is an exciting addition to our lineup of table games,” said Paul Mollo, Vice President of Table Games. “We’re confident our guests will gravitate to this new game.”
In addition to the One Card Blackjack table game unveiling, Seminole Hard Rock Tampa introduced $100 Match Play for new Seminole Wild Card Members. If you’re new to the concept, Match Play is a promotional offer issued as vouchers to use at a live table game.
The way this promotion works is that new Seminole Wild Card holders will receive $50 Match Play after signing up. The new members will then receive the another $50 Match Play on their next visit.
Once issued, Match Play vouchers are only good for use within 24 hours. The vouchers can be used at a blackjack, baccarat or pai gow poker table. The Match Play can only be used on even money bets so it cannot be used on side bets.
